Today I am very excited to share an interview with Andrea Beaman. Andrea has been a role model to Health Coaches, like myself, and really inspires people to eat real food and life a healthy lifestyle. Andrea is also a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and has been an guest lecturer there many times. I just love Andrea’s enthusiasm for life and her work and her lively personality. You may recognizer her from her appearance on the first season of Top Chef. She has a lot of great things to share with us today…

How did you first learn about the healing power of foods?

I first learned about the healing power of foods when my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer for the second time. After chemo and radiation, my dad read an article about “Macrobiotics.” So we tried it. There was something healing about eating natural foods, and I felt it in my body.

As a Health Coach and Natural Foods Chef, you help a lot of people change their lives. Would you share one of your most rewarding experiences helping someone?

I have rewarding experiences every day. I get emails from people all over the world that have healed their conditions (thyroid disease, asthma, MS, etc.) by using the information they read in my books or watched on one of my DVD’s. Beyond that, working one-on-one with clients is highly rewarding! Just knowing that clients feel better, look better and have a better outlook on life, makes all the difference in the world to me. I feel purposeful.

You are involved in so many things with your business, teaching, coaching, hosting your show, etc. How do you find the time to do it all?

Yes, I do a LOT! But, I do not take on more than I can handle. I make sure that I have personal time in the morning to meditate, exercise, and take care of myself BEFORE I start work. Plus I have a great marketing assistant, Amanda, and my partner Pablo also takes care of some of the business stuff.

Are there any websites or blogs that you enjoy reading?

Not necessarily. I am a generator and a creator of content. That doesn’t leave me much time to check out other stuff. If something interests me, I prefer taking a class. It’s a better environment for me.

What are your top 3 tips for people who want to change to a real food lifestyle?

Get off the crap food! Just eat real food. It’s not as hard as you may think it is. And, it may be a little bit more prep… but you are worth it!

What was the most beneficial change you made for your own health?

EVERYTHING! Diet, meditation, exercise, spiritual connection. It all benefits my life and my health.

What food are you really into right now? any favorite recipes?

It’s summer time in NYC. I’m craving fresh salads! Here is one: Watermelon Cucumber Feta Salad

Is there anything new and emerging in your business that you would like to share with us?

YES! I’m creating an educational and enlightening class for health coaches and healers. It’s a series designed specifically to help coaches become better health coaches. I’m sharing with them the tools I use in my coaching business to help them understand the body on a deeper level using ancient techniques; Visual diagnosis, Meridian Diagnosis, Emotional/Chakra healing and more. Plus, I’ll show them how to put it all together and create a financially sustainable business. It’s going to be great!
