Crock Pot 40 Clove Chicken

I love using the crock pot. It is such a great tool because it saves so much time and money. We use a lot of chicken stock so that is one of the things I use it for most. Making stock in the crock pot is so quick and effortless.
I am always on the look out for real food crock pot recipes. There are so many recipes for the crock pot that are not up to my standards because the ingredients include canned or packaged products. It is supposed to be a time saving gadget but that still can be done with all real food ingredients. I made this recipe last weekend and it came out excellent. The preparation time was less then 15 minutes (most of the time spent was peeling garlic) and it came out really delicious. The chicken was so tender it was falling off the bone. The flavor was great and it created its own sauce to pour on top of the chicken. We will be adding this into our rotation and making this often.
40 Clove Chicken
- 1 yellow onion
- 3-4 pounds chicken
- 1-2 tbs olive oil
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp thyme
- 40 cloves of garlic
This recipe also is great left over so next time I will make a larger batch to have some for lunches and even a second dinner.
Have you made 40 clove chicken before?
