About Me: My Story
My name is Roxanne and I am a 32 year old wife, to my amazing husband Jonathan, and Mother, to our daughter Giulia, and dog Winston. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have such a wonderful family and great life. Until recently, I was working a full time job in New York City in a high stress environment. Now I am a full time mom, wife, and entrepreneur and I am loving it.
Jonathan and I met in January of 2009 at a class at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. We had both attended classes in prior years, he in 2005 and myself in 2007 when we each started our own real food journeys. The fact that we both are believers in eating real food, using natural healing, and overall holistic health is extremely helpful and important. When we make choices for our family about food and health we rarely disagree. Our choices are usually not “normal” according to most people which is part of what inspired me to start this blog. It’s not easy to live the way we do but we do it because we feel its better for our family and for the earth.
I know there are a lot of other parents who are making the choices that we do – eating real food instead of processed packaged food, using holistic health care methods instead of traditional methods, choosing to use products that are free of chemicals and additives, chosing cloth diapers, questioning conventional health care, making things from scratch, using glass instead of plastic, and many more things that you will find me writing about on this site. If you are here reading this then you have at least thought about one of these things or you are just trying to find out why other people are doing it. I hope to help you understand some of these choices and help you make choices for your own family that are best for you.
