Homemade organic Larabars are easy to make. Larabars are delicious, satisfying, and are only made with a few whole food ingredients. The only thing is, they are not organic. If I am buying packaged snacks it's one of my top choices. They are great to throw in your bag for a emergency snack or to satisfy a sweet tooth without spiking the blood sugar.
Since these bars are only made with a few ingredients they are easy to duplicate. The process is very easy since there is no baking involved, all you need is a food processor. You can make a big batch at once and wrap them individually so that you can grab them on the go.
Here are my favorite recipes:
Cashew Cookie
- 1 cup raw organic cashews
- 1 cup organic pitted dates
- pinch of sea salt
Almond Cookie
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 3/4 cup organic pitted dates
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- pinch of sea salt
Chocolate Coconut
- 1/2 cup raw organic cashews
- 3/4 cup organic pitted dates
- 1/3 cup shredded coconut – I usually get this from Thrive Market
- 1 tbsp. cocoa powder
How to Make Homemade Organic Larabars
Place the dates in a food processor for one minute, empty into a bowl. Pour the cashews into a food processor and pulse until you get small chunks, you don't want flour you want it to be nice and chunky. Add into the bowl with the dates and throw in a pinch of sea salt. Use your hands to mix and mold into bars. If the bars are not sticking well because the dates were a little dry, add a small amount of water to make it more sticky.
You can experiment with different flavors for these bars. They are quick to make and you can easily add more of something to tweak the taste. These snacks are fun and easy to make.
