Have you had Fire Cider? Fire Cider has become quite popular for good reasons. This herbal folk remedy, created by Rosemary Gladstar, is a wonderfully warming remedy you can make yourself. This tasty vinegar infusion boosts natural health processes, stimulates digestion, and warms you from the inside out. It's the perfect remedy to take when you feel a cold coming on.
As with any folk remedy, ingredients can change based on what is available and amounts do not need to be exact. There are many variations to the recipe for Fire Cider and you can experiment to change the flavors. You will need a glass vessel for your herbs and vinegar and a food processor.
Fire Cider Ingredients
- 1 lemon
- 1 onion
- 1 head of garlic
- 2 jalapeno peppers
- 3-4 inches of ginger
- 1 small horseradish root
- 3-4 pieces of turmeric root (looking for more turmeric recipes? Try Golden Milk)
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup raw honey
- apple cider vinegar
Gather all your ingredients together and wash them. First, slice the lemon into thin slices and place them inside your glass jar. Then chop the rest of the vegetables in your food processor and layer them inside the glass jar. Next, pour the honey over all of the herbs and vegetables. Lastly, pour apple cider vinegar over top of everything until the jar is completely full.
Let this jar sit to infuse for 4 weeks before straining out the fire cider, and it's ready! Take this a tablespoon at a time or add to your favorite recipes.

- Pine needles
- Orange
