Make this homemade rose cocoa body butter recipe for a silky smooth moisturizing body butter that smells like roses! Once you have a ratio of oils and butters that you like it is very easy to make your own homemade body butter. The wonderful thing about body butters is that they do not contain any water which eliminates the need for any preservatives or for the process of emulsification. You will enjoy the texture and scent of this simple body butter.

Rose Cocoa Body Butter
- 1/2 cup Cocoa Butter
- 1/2 cup Shea Butter
- 1/3 cup Coconut Oil
- 1/4 cup Almond Oil
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp. Rose Hips and/or Rose Petals
- 15 drops Rose Essential Oil
To begin making this rose cocoa body butter recipe, we will use a double boiler. Place a glass vessel (I use a pyrex glass measuring cup) in a pot of water on medium heat. Now add the coconut oil, almond oil, and olive oil. Warm the oil on low heat until all oil is melted and liquid. Next you will add the rose hips to the oil and keep on low heat for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow the rose hips to steep in the oil for at least 30 minutes.

After the time has passed, use a fine mesh strainer to remove the rose hips from the oil. Pour the oil back into the glass measuring cup. Next, add the butters to the melted oil and warm until completely melted.
Remove the measuring cup from the pot and mix in the essential oil. Pour the melted oils into your container. Allow this to cool completely in the refrigerator. Once it is hardened it is ready to use!

Cocoa Butter Recipe

Rose Cocoa Body Butter
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup Shea Butter
- 1/3 cup Coconut Oil
- 1/4 cup Almond Oil
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp. Rose Hips
- 15 drops Rose Essential Oil

Body Butter Recipe Variations
You can also customize this body butter by use other types of butters, oils, herbs and essential oils. If you keep the measurements the same, you can swap out the ingredients to make your own customizable body butter.
Rose body butter provides deep moisturization, improves skin elasticity and soothes sensitive skin. The scent is also calming.
Both shea butter and cocoa butter are excellent for the skin. It is more of a personal preference on what you like better based on the scent and texture.
You can put on body butter every day or you can rotate it with other oils or lotions.
Some butters can clog pores so if you are prone to breakouts it is not recommended to use body butter on your face.
